Inspired by the undulating ocean water and named after the Greek word for 'wave,' our Kyma headboard, by creative interior designer Pandora Taylor, is imaginative with a playful spirit creating both intrigue and tranquility to a bedroom. Signature to Ensemblier's furniture, the Kyma is upholstered with natural materials in British workshops using traditional techniques such as a dowel-jointed beech frame with jute webbing as the spring and lambswool layers for soft, natural comfort.

Ensemblier was founded on the concept of providing good designs to a retail market. Inspiration has been sought from a variety of places taking references in the V&A art library to picture frames and tombstones. Pivotal to our intent of ‘good design’ with elegant, thoughtful proportions is to support traditional highly-skilled craftsmen using natural, sustainable materials. All our headboards are custom-made to our clients’ requirements.
The frames are solid beech, dowell-jointed, made either 'wall hung' with a mattress slip or 'to the floor' with a cut out to accommodate for skirting. Being of frame construction with natural materials, rather than a board with a foam filling as so many of our competitors are, the frames are webbed with rubberised hair, cotton bump and organic calico. Our entirely bespoke Atelier headboards use loose hair fillings with lambswool skin wadding. Our headboards are designed and manufactured to last a lifetime and beyond, in that they can be recovered and will not crumble in 8 years, like the toxic chemicals of foam.
All our headboards carry an embossed and numbered Ensemblier brass tag, to ensure authenticity, and are encased in a protective calico travel bag for storage and transportation.
All our headboards take around 40 hours to make using traditional craftsmanship.
Our lead-time is 10-12 weeks. This begins upon clear receipt of deposit and sign-off of production drawings. Please note 8 weeks must be allowed upon receipt of C.O.M.
We are always happy to make variations in size of all our headboards through our Atelier service. This requires an extended lead-time of around 14-16 weeks to aid in the additional drawings and templates required.
Courier charges can be quoted upon confirmation of the delivery address. International shipping available.
